Ingredients
  1. 1 cup butter or margarine
  2. 1/4 cup flour
  3. 1/2 cup icing sugar
  4. 1/2 tsp salt
  5. 2 cups flour
  6. 4 eggs beaten
  7. 1/4 cup lemon juice
  8. grated rind of 2 lemons
  9. 1 cup sugar
  10. 1 1/2 tsp Baking powder
To make base
  1. Cream butter with icing sugar and 2 cups flour.
  2. Press into a greased 13x9 inch pan.
  3. Bake 350F for 20 minutes.
  4. Combine eggs, lemon juice, rind, sugar, baking powder, 1/4 cup flour and salt.
  5. Pour over baked base.
  6. Return to oven for 25 minutes or filling is lightly browned on edges.
  7. Cool and slice.

Ingredients
  1. 3/4 cup butter
  2. 1/2 cup fine sugar
  3. 1/2 cup brown sugar
  4. 1 egg
  5. 1/2 tsp vanilla
  6. 1/2 cup dried, cutup apricots
  7. 2 cups pastry flour
  8. 1/2 cup chopped almonds
  9. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  10. 1/8 tsp baking soda
  11. 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  12. 1/2 tsp grated nutmeg
  13. 1/4 tsp ground allspice
Instructions
  1. Line an 8 inch square pan with wax paper, bottom and sides.
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice.
  3. Cream the butter and gradually blend in sugar and brown sugar.
  4. Add egg.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Mix in vanilla, apricots and almonds.
  7. Add dry ingredients slowly and mix well.
  8. Turn mixture into a prepared pan, cover and chill overnight.
  9. Next day preheat oven to 425F.
  10. Remove dough from pan and cut into three strips.
  11. Then cut strips crosswise in 2 inch slices.
  12. Arrange slices on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  13. Bake in preheated oven for 7 to 9 minutes.
  14. Cool on cake rack.
  15. Store in covered tin.
