Ingredients
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 cup scalded milk
- 6 egg yolks slightly beaten
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients in a saucepan and add the milk gradually stirring constantly.
- Cook over medium heat until thick.
- Remove from heat
- Stir a little of the hot mixture into the egg yolks.
- Blend this into the remaining hot mixture and cook over low heat until thick.
- Blend in the vanilla and butter.
- Cool.
