Ingredients
  1. 2/3 cup sugar
  2. 1/2 cup flour
  3. 1/2 tsp salt
  4. 3 cup scalded milk
  5. 6 egg yolks slightly beaten
  6. 2 tsp vanilla
  7. 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
  1. Mix the dry ingredients in a saucepan and add the milk gradually stirring constantly.
  2. Cook over medium heat until thick.
  3. Remove from heat
  4. Stir a little of the hot mixture into the egg yolks.
  5. Blend this into the remaining hot mixture and cook over low heat until thick.
  6. Blend in the vanilla and butter.
  7. Cool.
