Ingredients
  1. 3/4 cup chopped dates
  2. 1/2 cup sliced toasted almonds
  3. 1/4 cup finely chopped apricots
  4. 1 tsp orange rind
  5. 1/4 cup margarine
  6. 1/2 cup corn syrup
  7. 1/3 cup brown sugar
  8. 1/2 tsp vanilla
  9. 6 cups corn flakes
Instructions
  1. Dissolve the margarine, corn syrup, brown sugar, vanilla and
  2. Corn flakes in the microwave.
  3. Mix the remaining ingredients with the dissolved ones.
  4. Press into a 9x13 shallow pan.
  5. Place into refrigerator for about 1/2 hour.

  3. Add rice, chicken, celery and olives.
  4. Toss lightly, cover and chill 1 hour.
  5. Serve on lettuce leaves sprinkled with almonds.
  6. Garnish with avocado slices and orange sections.

Ingredients
  1. 4 cups water
  2. 4 cups sour pitted cherries
  3. 1/2 cup sugar
  4. 1/2 tsp salt
  5. 1 1/2 oz flour

Instructions
  1. Bring water to boiling point add cherries, sugar and salt.
  2. Bring to boil then cook slowly until cherries are soft.
  3. Put a few aside for garnish.
  4. Mix flour with 1/2 cup water to smooth paste.
  5. Gradually add the soup.
  6. Gently bring to boil and stir for 5 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Take 4 Tbsp soup and add briskly into beaten egg and immediately pour back into soup.
  9. Stir and cook for 3 minutes.
  10. DO NOT BOIL.
  11. Allow to get cold and add sour cream.
  12. Garnish with cherries.

  2. 1/3 cup melted margarine
  3. 1 tsp cinnamon

  4. 1/2 cup skim milk scalded
  5. 2 egg whites

Topping
  1. Fresh strawberries, kiwi fruit, sliced bananas or any fruit.
Crust
  1. Combine cracker crumbs, melted margarine and cinnamon.
  2. Press into 9 inch pie plate and bake at 375F for 10 minutes.
  3. Cool.
Filling
  1. Place gelatin, water and lemon juice in blender and blend at low speed.
  2. Add scalded milk.
  3. When gelatin is dissolved, add egg whites, icing sugar, cottage cheese and lemon rind.
  4. Blend at high speed until smooth.
  5. Pour into crust and chill until firm (2 hours).
  6. Top with fresh fruit before serving.

Pastry
  1. 2 cups flour
  2. 1/2 tsp salt
  3. 1 tsp grated orange rind
  4. 1 1/4 cups butter
  5. Unsalted chilled
  6. 1/3 cup ice water
Filling
  1. 1 cup sugar
  2. 1/4 tsp salt
  3. 2 tsp corn starch
  4. 2 tbsp minute tapioca
  5. 1/4 cup orange juice
  6. 1 1/2 cups sliced strawberries
  7. 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
  1. Combine the flour, salt and orange rind in a large bowl.
  2. Cut the butter into the dry ingredients until it looks like oatmeal.
  3. Sprinkle on the water while stirring and pressing to form dough.
  4. Shape into 2 balls.
  5. Flatten, wrap and chill.
  6. In a large bowl, blend together sugar, salt, corn starch, tapioca and nutmeg.
  7. Prepare the rhubarb, orange juice and strawberries and reserve.
  8. Roll out 1/2 the dough and line a 10 inch pie plate.
  9. Trim the pastry about 1/2 inch from rim and turn under and flute.
  10. Roll out the remaining dough and cut out 2 dozen 2 1/2 inch hearts.
  11. Toss the rhubarb in the sugar mixture, add the orange juice and spoon evenly into the lined pie plate. Scatter on the strawberries and dot with butter.
  12. Place the hearts randomly over the top.
  13. Bake at 450F for 10 min, then 350F for 35 minutes.
  14. Cool on a rack and serve with ice cream.
