Ingredients
  1. 2 cups bran flakes
  2. 1/2 cup milk
  3. 1/2 cup molasses
  4. 1 egg
  5. 1/4 cup soft shortening
  6. 1/2 cup dates
  7. 1 cup sifted flour
  8. 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  9. 1/2 tsp salt.
Instructions
  1. Combine the bran flakes, milk and molasses.
  2. Let stand.
  3. Add egg and shortening and beat well.
  4. Stir in dates.
  5. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
  6. Add to bran mixture.
  7. Spoon into greased muffin pans.
  8. Bake at 400F for 20 minutes.
