Ingredients
- 12 oz pkg pitted prunes
- 4 cups boiling water
- 1 orange
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 cloves
- 1/2 cup sugar
Instructions
- Put prunes in bowl and cover with water.
- Let stand until cool.
- Squeeze orange and save half skin.
- Strain juice into prunes.
- Cover and keep in refrigerator over night.
- Lay orange peel on table and remove the white part with a sharp paring knife.
- Cut enough orange skin into threads to fill 1 tbsp.
- Wrap in foil and refrigerate.
- Pour prunes into saucepan the next day.
- Add orange rind and spices and simmer until prunes are tender. (25 min.)
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in sugar and por into bowl.
- Cover and chill.
