Ingredients
  1. 4 oz baking chocolate
  2. 5 tbsp butter
  3. 3 oz cream cheese
  4. 1 cup sugar
  5. 3 eggs
  6. 1/2 cup + 1 tsp flour
  7. 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  8. 1/2 tsp baking powder
  9. 1/4 tsp salt
  10. 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  11. 1/4 tsp almond extract
Instructions
  1. Melt chocolate and 3 tbsp butter over low heat.
  2. Cool.
  3. Cream the remaining butter with cream cheese.
  4. Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar, creaming until light and fluffy.
  5. Stir in 1 egg, 1 tbsp flour and 1/2 tsp vanilla until blended.
  6. Set aside.
  7. In another bowl, beat remaining eggs until fluffy and light in colour.
  8. Gradually add remaining 3/4 cup sugar.
  9. Beat until thick.
  10. Fold in baking powder, salt and 1/2 cup flour.
  11. Blend in cooled chocolate mixture.
  12. Stir in nuts, almond extract and 1 tsp vanilla.
  13. Set aside 1 cup chocolate batter.
  14. Spread remaining batter on a greased 9 inch square pan.
  15. Pour cheese mixture over top.
  16. Drop measured chocolate batter by tbsp onto the cheese mixture.
  17. Swirl mixture to marbleize.
  18. Bake at 350F for 35-40 minutes.
  19. Cool.
  20. Cut in bars and store covered in fridge.
