Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup wheat germ
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cloves
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 tbsp sugar
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine flour, wheat germ, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- Mix well.
- In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar well.
- Beat in egg and vanilla.
- Add dry ingredients and mix well.
- Divide dough in half.
- On a floured surface, roll out each to 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut with 2½ inch round cutter.
- Place on an ungreased sheet.
- Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
- Bake at 350F for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Let cool until firm.
