Ingredients
  1. 1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
  2. 1 cup wheat germ
  3. 1 tsp cinnamon
  4. 1/4 tsp cloves
  5. 1/4 tsp salt
  6. 1/2 cup butter
  7. 1/2 cup brown sugar
  8. 1 egg
  9. 1 tsp vanilla
  10. 2 tbsp sugar
Instructions
  1. In a bowl, combine flour, wheat germ, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  2. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar well.
  4. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  5. Add dry ingredients and mix well.
  6. Divide dough in half.
  7. On a floured surface, roll out each to 1/8 inch thick.
  8. Cut with 2½ inch round cutter.
  9. Place on an ungreased sheet.
  10. Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  11. Bake at 350F for 8 to 10 minutes.
  12. Let cool until firm.
