Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 cup icing sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups flour
- 4 eggs beaten
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- grated rind of 2 lemons
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp Baking powder
To make base
- Cream butter with icing sugar and 2 cups flour.
- Press into a greased 13x9 inch pan.
- Bake 350F for 20 minutes.
- Combine eggs, lemon juice, rind, sugar, baking powder, 1/4 cup flour and salt.
- Pour over baked base.
- Return to oven for 25 minutes or filling is lightly browned on edges.
- Cool and slice.
