Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 cup shortening
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup boiling water
- 2 cups bran flakes
Instructions
- Add soda to boiling water and let cool.
- Mix remaining ingredients except shortening.
- Cut in shortening and add soda and boiling water.
- Roll out thin on a floured board.
- Cut out cookies.
- Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake in a hot oven, about 10 minutes, until golden brown.
